Privacy Policy

Last updated on 03.06.2026

Todor Ivanov ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Kitchen Tiny (the "App") or visit our website kitchentiny.com (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to operate Kitchen Tiny and provide its features:

  • Account information: When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) collects and stores your email address, and, if you sign in via Apple, Google or other social providers, the basic profile information they share with us (name, profile picture).
  • Anonymous identifier: Before you sign up, the App generates a random anonymous identifier so the photo recognition and diet-matching features can work without a user account. This identifier is not tied to any personal information.
  • Meal and diet data: The foods, meals, custom diets, weight entries and fasting windows you enter or capture in the App.
  • Meal photos: Photos you take or upload of your meals, stored in our object storage so the App can display them in your history and so our AI providers can process them to identify foods.
  • Subscription state: If you start a free trial or paid subscription, our subscription provider (RevenueCat) records the state of that subscription (active, expired, trial, etc.). Payment details themselves are handled directly by Apple or Google — we never see your card number.
  • Device and usage information: Anonymous device model, OS version, app version, language, and crash and performance logs, used to keep the App stable and fix bugs.
  • Website analytics: When you visit kitchentiny.com, we use Google Analytics to collect aggregated usage statistics (pages visited, referrer, approximate location, device type). This applies only to the website, not the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the core features of the App: meal logging, photo recognition, diet matching, calendar and trend views, fasting and weight tracking.
  • Sync your data across your devices and back it up to our servers.
  • Manage your account, authentication, subscription state and free trial.
  • Improve the App's reliability, performance and feature quality.
  • Respond to your support requests and feedback.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. AI Processing of Meal Photos and Text

To identify foods in your meal photos and match them against your diet, we send the photo and related text to third-party AI providers (currently OpenAI and Google, accessed via OpenRouter). These providers process the data only to return a result and do not retain it for their own model training under the terms we use. We do not send your name or email address with these requests — only the content needed to perform the task and an anonymous request identifier.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account from inside the App, your account record, meal logs, photos, weight and fasting data, and custom diets are permanently deleted from our servers. Aggregated and anonymised statistics may be retained for analytics. Authentication records held by Clerk and subscription records held by RevenueCat are deleted in accordance with their respective retention policies.

5. Data Security

We take the protection of your data seriously. Data is transmitted over HTTPS, stored on secure servers with access controls, and access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel. While we follow industry-standard practices, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to run Kitchen Tiny, strictly for the purposes listed above:

  • Clerk — authentication and account management.
  • RevenueCat — subscription state.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play — distribution, in-app purchases and refunds.
  • OpenRouter, OpenAI and Google AI — processing meal photos and text for food identification and diet matching.
  • Object storage and hosting providers — storing your meal photos and running our backend.
  • Google Analytics — website usage statistics (only on kitchentiny.com).

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your stored data.
  • Correction: Request changes to incorrect or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from inside the App at any time, or by contacting us.
  • Withdraw consent: Stop using the App and the website at any time.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@kitchentiny.com.

8. International Data Transfers

Our servers and the third-party providers we use may be located outside of your country, including in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may not offer the same level of data protection as your own.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. Those have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)

  • Users can visit our website anonymously.
  • This Privacy Policy is clearly linked on our homepage and contains the word "Privacy".
  • Any changes to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated date.

11. Do Not Track Signals

The website uses Google Analytics with anonymised IP collection. We do not use cookies or trackers for behavioural advertising. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals because no industry-standard for honouring them has been finalised.

12. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Kitchen Tiny is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or store personal data from children under this age. If we learn that such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Where the changes are material, we may notify you in the App or by email.
